MGRS
Military Grid Reference System
A geocoordinate standard used by NATO and allied forces to specify locations on Earth.
MGRS is derived from the Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) grid and the Universal Polar Stereographic (UPS) grid. It is the standard coordinate format used in military operations.
A full MGRS coordinate includes a Grid Zone Designator (GZD), a 100,000-meter square identifier, and a numerical easting/northing pair. Example: 18TWL8055016325.
