Operations Order
A directive issued by a commander to subordinate commanders for the purpose of effecting the coordinated execution of an operation.
An OPORD uses the standard five-paragraph format: Situation, Mission, Execution, Sustainment, and Command & Signal (SMEAC). This format ensures all subordinate elements have the information needed to accomplish the mission.
